Let’s start classically with the plot, which in the first part played an important role. This time it all starts quite peacefully. The only worry of our heroes is the inability to learn to fly through the owl known from the first part. When the problem is finally solved, the animal sets off on its first flight. On its back, of course, is Ori. However, the heroes are stopped by a storm that separates them in a dark and dangerous forest. Now Ori must find a frightened and possibly wounded owl. There is not much time left. Along the way, classically our unique hero will have to drive out evil powers from the forest that disrupt the lives of its inhabitants. It can not be hidden, however, that the best are threads related to the group of main characters. There will also be moments that some may arouse great emotions.

In the mechanics layer, the new Ori hasn’t changed much. It is still metroidvania, in which an important role is played by returning to locations you’ve already visited and acquiring new skills that allow you to get to previously inaccessible places. Therefore, new skills and ways to use them are new. Of course, I won’t mention them all, because none of them changes the game dramatically. However, I didn’t feel bored. Five years have passed since the premiere of the first part, so I managed to feel the hunger for this mechanics. Thanks to this, even a small breath of freshness was enough for me not to feel tired of the game. At the same time, from the first moments I felt that I was at home – I know how to play it, what the rules are in this world and I felt great in it.

It should be noted at the end that technical errors will probably patch patches soon (the first patch appeared just before the publication of the review, the second one will be available tonight), and videos will be published on the Internet showing how to solve problematic puzzles (for obvious reasons I could not use them ). So I think if I started my adventure with the new Ori a week later, the overall experience would be better. Then the assessment would be closer to the level reserved only for the most outstanding productions of recent years. For a reason – Ori and the Will of the Wisps will definitely count in the fight for the title of the game of the year. It’s a great adventure that I recommend to anyone who is not afraid of the dexterity demanding gameplay.
